Alexis made her way to Seattle via Tulsa, OK where she was the creative director of Rhett & Co. For more than 17 years, Alexis has  been using her powers for good, providing her largely multi-racial clientele with an expert understanding of how to really work with hair; she's never met a curl that she couldn't make friends with.

Alexis has trained extensively with Aveda, is a certified Deva Inspired Stylist and was featured in 2011 by Seattle Magazine with accolades for her textured, curly/afro haircutting and styling skills. She makes a point of keeping current on styles and techniques by taking classes by Bumble & bumble, Ruth Roche and Ted Gibson. In addition, she has also been a guest speaker at Patsy Collins’ Adventures in Leadership camp at Camp Orkila on Orcas Island.

Dez Abdullah

Originally from California, Dez started her career and apprenticeship with Jenny, Alexis and Emily back at good old VAIN Beauty World and after a six year intermission, is back in the Pacific Northwest on the permanent and available to do your hair. Is your hair naturally textured? Fantastic, Dez is your curl’s new best friend. Dez has worked extensively with textured hair of all kinds for the entirety of her career and is passionate about making you feel good about what’s already happening on your head. She wants to help you figure out how to work with it, streamline and enhance it.

With an expertise that spans beyond natural curl and texture, Dez also excels in precision cutting, dreads, extensions, braiding and extreme color. Her training began at Gene Juarez, followed up with an apprenticeship and was polished in the professional world over the course of the last eight years, including managing a team of hairdressers at both Ulta and JCP hair studios. Classically trained but open to anything, Dez has been doing hair for many years and is an excellent listener; with her you don’t have to dream it, you can be it.

When Dez isn’t working her magic and making hair dreams come true, she loves spending time with her daughters, her dog and working on tattoos.

*Dez is currently on maternity leave until September, 2018 but her books are open for when she returns!

Heather Joy

Heather Joy hails from Santa Cruz, California but moved to Seattle in the early 90's after graduating from beauty school. A veteran beautician, Heather finished her apprenticeship at Seattle's own Halo Salon and eventually moved onto Rudy's Barbershop, perfecting her haircutting skills and establishing herself in the hair worlds of both Seattle and Los Angeles as a senior stylist.

Heather is our favorite kind of hairdresser; she is a true renaissance woman of sorts, taking a break from grooming the masses and parlaying her skills into creating her own business. As an on location stylist, Heather focused on weddings, videos and photoshoots, so if you're looking for the THE person to handle your hair for your next occasion or event, look no further! From fancy to the more offbeat and organic, she can make it happen. She's also great with short hair, clipper cuts, creative cutting and textured hair.

Before she returned to the city in the woods, Heather was a Kitchen Beautician, doing hair on the side, working her way through Le Cordon Bleu. Becoming a chef lead to all kinds of avenues for Heather, including being a literal food stylist! Girl could not get away from making all of the people and things pretty and we're glad she's back behind the chair.

Heather's education includes classes with Bumble & bumble NYC and American Crew, and she will be refining her color skills and apprenticing with the Ladies of Coven over the next few months and will be available to change your hue later this summer.

When she's not being every woman, Heather enjoys creating art, sailing, travel, good food and wine and jumping out of perfectly good airplanes.

Come in and meet our latest hair witch and see what kind of magic she's spinning. Book online via our "Appointments" page, shoot us a text or call.
