Belinda is a small town Washington native who left the country life for the big city as soon as she possibly could. Now more than 20 years later, she has been an icon of eyebrows and makeup throughout Seattle.
A small obsession with her own eyebrows and makeup as a kid made for an easy decision to become an esthetician. She started out working as a laser hair and tattoo removal technician. After a couple years of smelling like burnt hair she moved on to more holistic skincare and started working at an AVEDA salon. After intense facial and body care training, Belinda became the spa director and national educator for AVEDA cosmetics. All of this brought many opportunities like photo shoots, hair and fashion shows, and even a movie. She’s had her makeup published in local print like The Stranger and Seattle Magazine and many other publications around the globe.
Needing more creative outlet Belinda left AVEDA and has been slaying brows and flinging makeup downtown Seattle ever since.
Her latest endeavor has been Microblading! Over 20 years of eyebrow expertise, this meticulous cosmetic tattooing technique was the next natural step in her career and she is conquering the hell out of it.
Now offering eyebrow grooming at Coven!
Make Up Artist
Aubrey Schoonmaker has been doing makeup for the last six years. Enhancing each person’s individual beauty has always been something that she’s admired in others and considered a personal hobby but she never really considered doing it professionally. Like most natural artists, one day she just thought, “what is stopping me from doing that?” and the answer was absolutely nothing! So she picked up a brush and never really looked back.
Aubrey is 100% self taught and most of her education has been through experiences shared with clients and on set. Aubrey’s ideal client and all time favorite thing to do is to make someone feel beautiful without losing themselves in a sea of products. Each person she works with is beautiful without all of the things stores tell us we “need”. Aubrey wants you to feel comfortable and see yourself with just with a little extra sparkle and loves creating that for someone’s special day, helping find your new date night look or even just mastering your daily routine!
Call on Aubrey for almost any makeup or beauty routine need! She does makeup for all occasions; weddings, parties, birthdays, engagement shoots, photo shoots, “how to’s” and much much more. Just ask! Give us a call, text or email to set up your own time with Aubrey today.
Alexis made her way to Seattle via Tulsa, OK where she was the creative director of Rhett & Co. For more than 17 years, Alexis has been using her powers for good, providing her largely multi-racial clientele with an expert understanding of how to really work with hair; she's never met a curl that she couldn't make friends with.
Alexis has trained extensively with Aveda, is a certified Deva Inspired Stylist and was featured in 2011 by Seattle Magazine with accolades for her textured, curly/afro haircutting and styling skills. She makes a point of keeping current on styles and techniques by taking classes by Bumble & bumble, Ruth Roche and Ted Gibson.
