Coven is a creative salon in the Montlake neighborhood of Seattle. We are a collective that seeks to inspire and celebrate all beings, no matter their philosophies. Coven is comfort and luxury, but overall, community. We are always looking for new members to join the Coven.
Alexis made her way to Seattle via Tulsa, OK where she was the creative director of Rhett & Co. For more than 16 years, Alexis has been using her powers for good, providing her largely multi-racial clientele with an expert understanding of how to really work with hair; she's never met a curl that she couldn't make friends with.
Alexis has trained extensively with Aveda, is a certified Deva Inspired Stylist and was featured in 2011 by Seattle Magazine with accolades for her textured, curly/afro haircutting and styling skills. She makes a point of keeping current on styles and techniques by taking classes by Bumble & bumble, Ruth Roche and Ted Gibson. In addition, she has also been a guest speaker at Patsy Collins’ Adventures in Leadership camp at Camp Orkila on Orcas Island.
Emily has been in the beauty industry for 15 years and comes to the Pacific Northwest by way of Chicago. Both blessed and cursed with a curly mane, Emily specializes in meticulously messy and technically tousled looks like her own. She is a certified Deva Inspired Stylist who has been featured on Off Beat Bride for her wedding styles. Emily also works as a Network Educator for Bumble & bumble.
Besides keeping the curls under control, she specializes in blonde hues, razor cuts, wave enhancing, organic updos and dimensional color. She is particularly honored to have developed a rapport with the curl community in her years of hairdressing in Seattle. As someone who lives the reality she likes to untangle (literally) the issues at hand.
Seattle-native Jenny Slay has been sculpting the city's best looks for nineteen years, and has been wielding shears for well over twenty. She has been featured in Seattle Magazine's Best of Seattle for her work and in 2012 she was profiled as part of Allure magazine's Best of Beauty for her haircutting. A specialist in color correction and extensions, she's also well known for her expertise with fine and curly hair.
Jenny is a master stylist who regularly attends classes at Bumble & bumble NYC, keeping her craft fresh and innovative. There isn't any type of hair that Jenny can't slay (ha); this veteran beautician is equipped with years of training and experience. Jenny has a Great Lengths Extension certification, as well as being just a really great time.
Jenna Rose Hoffman
Jenna Rose hails from Southern California and had been residing in Chicago for the last ten years, where she attended and completed her training at the Aveda Institute. Beauty school and apprenticeship aside, it was working for nine years at a high traffic salon in the Lakeview area, the renown Sine Qua Non, where she really polished her craft. This coiffeuse was awarded "Best Haircut Under $100" by Allure magazine in 2013, and "Best Hairstylist in Chicago" by TIME OUT magazine.
In addition to her success behind the chair at SQN, Jenna worked as a Network Educator for Bumble & bumble, as well as being one of the head color educators for Sine's sought after advanced training program. Jenna loves to do pixie cuts and bobs and is amazing with a razor- if a lived-in, layered style is what you're after, look no further. Natural sun kissed highlights, blonding of all kinds, and creative color are also right up her sleeve. She has tirelessly continued her education through classes at Wella, Bumble & bumble NYC, and Aveda. We are so proud to have had Jenna Rose in our squad for almost two years, now!
In her spare time she likes to cook, craft, and snuggle with her fur babies, Santa and Artie. Jenna Rose loves to be active and outdoors and has a huge passion for health, wellness and lifting heavy things.
Sara Baer (yeah, you read that right) is Coven's newest junior stylist and comes to us as a clean slate and recent graduate from Summit Salon Academy in Tacoma, WA. A bold color and balayage enthusiast, Sara also loves doing creative undercut work and bangin' blowouts. Sara is (obviously) relatively new to the beauty industry as a professional, but has been busy playing kitchen beautician for some time now and totally down to try anything new. She's game if you are! She excels at bangs, curls, special occasion styles and updos and textured cuts.
As an apprentice, Sara is always under the watchful eye and guidance of the more senior hairdressers of Coven Salon and takes advanced classes in-salon weekly, further fine tuning her skills. Her enthusiasm and natural talent shine when she is behind the chair; in fact, Sara loves seeing people's reactions after their transformations almost as actually doing hair! Call 206.323.9010 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to make an appointment with Sara B. today!
